Making a difference one paw at a time

Wow! It has been approximately 8 months since my last post on here! It’s a shame really because so much has happened during that time – I’ve been to Amsterdam and Rome, I’m a whole year older, I am now a ‘cyclist’ and yesterday I visited a casino!!

Anyway, one of the main reasons of me blogging today is down to the tragic news that Manchester Dogs Home was burnt down on Thursday evening. I couldn’t actually believe what i was reading when i saw it as breaking news on the BBC website, and to hear that it had been done on purpose was even worse. With tears running down my face all I could think was – how could someone do that!? The home held special place in my heart because it was there that we found our lovely boy Mylo but it also made me realise just how many other dogs needed a family to call their own. Sadly 50+ dogs didn’t make it, their chance to live a happy life with a new family was cruely taken from them. I hope the scumbag that did this rots!

Since the news broke the response to help the charity has been nothing short of overwhelming, well over a million pounds has been donated online, people are providing food, bedding, tradesmen are offering their services for free – It is just amazing! Mrs Smith and I dropped off some blankets and food at Pets at Home today – I have never seen it so busy – And we donated via text MDOG57 followed by £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070. I hope the people of Manchester and the surrounding areas continue to get involved and help them get back on their paws – I know I will.
